The stories
Erica C. from the United States:
In September 1993 my little sister was 5 years old and watched Pee Wee Herman. She watched that more than Disney. Then my grandfather (a big Bond fan) would watch Licence to Kill repeatedly. I remember my grandfather bragging about BTD being not only hispanic but Puerto Rican. Once Christopher Columbus: The Discovery came out my mom and I were hooked. We watched it just as much as my grandfather and little sister did with their favorites. That is when we realized that BTD had roles in these movies.
I had substained an injury while attending middle school in Miami, FL. At that time my mother worked at the hospital where Benicio's brother Dr Gustavo Del Toro was practicing. News traveled really fast in the hospital that I was injured and Dr. Del Toro confirmed that information with my mother. Dr. Del Toro then revealed to us that he was related to Benicio. Benico was not only kind but compassionate enough to call me at home and send me a autographed picture. I was so happy that I was speechless. That picture now hangs in my little sister's room, because that little 5-year-old is now in the Thespian Club and has won many awards for Drama. Benicio has played a major role model in my home not only to me but to my sister and mother as well. The night that Benicio won the Oscar, my mother ran outside the house and screamed her lungs out and then cried. We're not only proud but honored.
If I didn't tell you then Benicio, thank you and bendicion.
